Dear Parishioners,

Today is the last Sunday of August. June felt like it was just yesterday! As we prepare to enter the Fall season, the Lord calls us into a deeper relationship with him. Things tend to get much busier as September comes around. The workload seems to pile up and there may be times that we become overwhelmed or fall into despair. Through all the work, tasks or situations that have been given to us, we must never take our eyes of Jesus, the son of God. We hear in today’s gospel Jesus asking his disciples, “who do people say that I am?” After the disciples respond to Jesus, the Lord asks Peter, “who do you say that I am?” It is from that question, that Peter gives a profound statement of faith, you are the Christ the son of the living God. Jesus is the anointed son of God, who comes to us body, blood, soul and divinity. The Lord reveals himself to us in so many ways, but most especially through the gift of faith, which allows us to proclaim him as the eternal son of God. May the Lord continue to bless us with his mercy, as we follow him to the eternal kingdom of heaven.

Diocese of Brooklyn Eucharistic Revival

The Catholic Church throughout the country has called for a renewal in the proclamation of the Most Holy Eucharist. As Catholics, we believe that Jesus is present body, blood, soul and divinity in the Eucharist. He is truly the center of the Church. Here in the Diocese of Brooklyn, we will have a Diocesan Eucharistic Revival which will take place on Saturday, October 7 at Maimonides Park Stadium (Brooklyn Cyclones in Coney Island) beginning at 8:00AM. The day will include praise and worship, Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Family Catechesis and much more. There will be a bus leaving from Our Lady of Victory Church for a nominal fee. You are all invited to join with the Diocese of Brooklyn for a day of prayer and worship, a celebration of Catholic families and the proclamation of the joy of the gospel and Eucharist.

First Friday Devotions

This Friday, September 1st is the first Friday of the month. First Friday devotions will take place at Our Lady of Victory Church following the 8:00AM Mass with Eucharistic adoration, the recitation of the rosary followed by Benediction.
